1 lb. ground spicy italian sausage
20 oz frozen cheese tortellini
2 cans diced tomatoes (I prefer italian spiced or fire roasted)
32 oz chicken broth
8 oz cream cheese
Optional - onions, mushrooms, peas, spices such as crushed red pepper, garlic, black pepper, oregano
Brown the italian sausage (I add a chopped onion). Add sausage to crockpot along with tortellini, undrained tomatoes, broth, and cream cheese cut into chunks. Cook for about 3 hours. Add mushrooms, peas etc. 1/2 hour before serving.
